Video That Fits the Room
We help plan the right display for the space, whether that means a large 4K TV, a projector and screen, or a layout designed around viewing distance and room lighting.
Custom Audio & Video Systems
We design and install custom home theater systems with immersive sound, high-performance video, clean wiring, and simple control for a better entertainment experience at home.
Home Theater Design & Installation
A custom home theater system is more than just a large screen and a few speakers. The right setup brings together video, surround sound, room layout, wiring, and control so everything works together the way it should. Whether you are planning a dedicated theater room, a media room, or a living room entertainment upgrade, the goal is the same: clean installation, strong performance, and simple everyday use.
We design home theater systems around the space, the way the room will be used, and the level of performance you want. From projector-based theater rooms to high-end TV and surround sound setups, every system is planned to feel polished, reliable, and easy to enjoy.
We help plan the right display for the space, whether that means a large 4K TV, a projector and screen, or a layout designed around viewing distance and room lighting.
A home theater should sound as impressive as it looks. We design systems with speaker placement, room layout, and equipment matching in mind so the audio feels balanced, powerful, and immersive.
Good performance matters, but so does the finish. We focus on clean installation, organized equipment placement, and wiring that supports a polished final result.
The best theater system is one you actually enjoy using. We can build in simple control options so it is easier to manage audio, video, inputs, and overall system operation.
System Options
Not every home theater system looks the same. Some homeowners want a fully dedicated theater room built for movies and sports, while others want a media room or living room setup that blends strong performance with everyday comfort. The right system depends on the room, how the space is used, and the level of sound and video performance you want.
We design home theater systems for a range of spaces, from projector-based rooms to clean living room entertainment setups with surround sound, hidden wiring, and simple control. Every system is planned around the space so it feels intentional, polished, and easy to enjoy.

How It Works
Every project starts with a plan. Our goal is to design a system that looks clean, sounds incredible, and feels simple to use every day. From early planning and wire runs to Control4 setup and final walkthrough, we guide homeowners through a clear installation process.
We begin by designing the room layout for the theater. This includes speaker configuration, projector placement, screen position, and deciding where the equipment rack or media shelves will live so the entire system is planned correctly from the start.
Once the design is finalized, we run the wiring needed to connect the system. This usually includes speaker wire, HDMI to the projector, network connections, and any low-voltage wiring from the rack to the equipment locations.
After the wiring is in place, we install the speakers, subwoofers, projector, receiver, and connected devices. This is where the room begins to come together into a complete home theater system.
We integrate the theater with Control4 so the system can be operated from one remote. This makes it easy to switch between cable, streaming devices, Xbox, and other media sources without juggling multiple remotes.
Once everything is connected, we hook up the receiver audio wiring, plug in media devices, and complete audio testing and system configuration. Speaker levels, source connections, and settings are dialed in so the system performs the way it should.
Before we finish, we show you how to use the new Control4 system so operating the theater feels simple and intuitive. For dedicated theater rooms, an optional upgrade we love is coordinating a skylight-style ceiling detail with our painter for a dramatic finishing touch.
The easiest time to plan a theater is before drywall, which is why we like meeting with builders early in the project whenever possible. Contact your builder today to work with Callaway Home Theater. That said, we also complete retrofit work in finished homes and can design clean solutions for existing rooms.
Callaway Home Theater provides custom home theater installation and consultation services for homeowners throughout Metro Atlanta. Our team designs and installs theater systems, surround sound setups, and Control4 automation solutions tailored to each home.
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to some of the most common questions homeowners ask when planning a custom home theater system. These cover pricing, room requirements, wiring, retrofits, and what to expect during installation.
The cost of Home Theater Installation usually depends on the quality of the equipment, the complexity of the room, and how far you want to take the system. Projectors are often one of the largest parts of the investment, especially in dedicated theater rooms where screen size, brightness, image quality, and throw distance all matter.
Other cost factors include the number of speakers and subwoofers, the AV receiver, Control4 integration, wiring requirements, acoustic considerations, and whether the project is being completed before drywall or as a retrofit in a finished room. A simple media room upgrade will usually cost less than a fully customized theater with projection, surround sound, hidden wiring, and automation.
The best way to get accurate pricing is with a consultation. That allows us to look at the room, discuss your goals, and recommend a system that fits both the space and your budget.
Yes. Callaway Home Theater regularly works directly with custom home builders, remodel contractors, and design-build teams throghout Georgia and the Metro Atlanta service area.
We provide low voltage planning and installation for home theaters, media rooms, whole-home audio, networking, security, and Control4 home automation systems. Our team can coordinate with builders early in the construction process to plan wiring paths, equipment locations, and system layouts before drywall is installed.
Yes. Many home theater projects are installed in existing living rooms, bonus rooms, basements, and other finished spaces. A dedicated theater room is not required to create a strong viewing and listening experience.
In finished rooms, we design around the space you already have and look for the best options for speaker placement, projector or TV location, equipment storage, and clean cable routing. Retrofit work often requires a different approach than pre-wire jobs, but it can still produce an excellent result.
No. Dedicated theater rooms are great for homeowners who want a true cinematic experience, but many of our projects are built in multi-use spaces. Living rooms, media rooms, and basement setups can all be designed to deliver immersive sound and excellent picture quality.
The right layout depends on how you use the room, how much space is available, and whether you want the system to blend into the home or become a focal point.
In many cases, yes. We always try to plan clean cable paths so the finished home theater system looks polished and professionally installed. When we are brought in before drywall, wiring is usually run inside the walls very cleanly.
For retrofit projects in finished homes, we evaluate the room and use the best possible approach for hiding or minimizing visible wiring. The options depend on wall access, ceiling layout, equipment location, and the type of system being installed.
Yes. Control4 is one of the best ways to simplify the home theater experience by putting the system on one easy-to-use remote or interface. Instead of juggling separate remotes for the projector, receiver, cable box, streaming devices, and gaming consoles, Control4 allows everything to work together more seamlessly.
This makes it easier to switch sources, power the system on and off, and manage the room without unnecessary complexity.
Yes, when possible. Meeting before drywall makes it easier to plan speaker locations, projector placement, wiring paths, rack location, and control wiring. It usually gives the cleanest final result and more flexibility in how the system is built.
That said, we also complete retrofit home theater installation in finished homes, so a pre-wire is not required to create a high-quality theater system.
Yes. We work on both new construction and existing homes. Retrofit projects are common and can include projector installation, surround sound upgrades, equipment relocation, Control4 integration, and media room improvements.
During the consultation, we assess the room, identify the cleanest installation options, and recommend a system design that works with the home as it exists today.
